Our cabin is centrally located to the best hiking in Shenandoah National Park and is less than 10 miles from its two most popular hikes — Old Rag Mountain and Whiteoak Canyon. Here are some of our favorite hikes within a short drive of our cabin.

If window-shopping is more your speed, small-town Virginia has lots to look at.
Our cabin is surrounded by a vast network of picturesque back roads ideal for cycling — and we’re within riding distance of Skyline Drive. Here are some recommended rides.
Several nearby mountain streams offer prime fly fishing opportunities.

This cabin was phenomenal! It has all of the rustic appeal of a mountain cabin, but was warm and inviting with modern design features, especially the great windows and ergonomic built-ins. We really enjoyed the wood stove and the hot tub as it was a little bit chilly. We cooked all of our meals in the well-stocked kitchen with the charming skylight. We also made time for the local mountain trails and wineries. We hope to come back in warmer weather and use the swimming hole! Keith and Tracy provided us with everything we needed to have an awesome stay!

What a wonderful cabin! We have stayed at a few in the area over the years, and this was our favorite by far. This was our first trip with our young toddler, and the space was perfect for our family. We cooked all our meals there, and everything we needed was there to cook as we usually do. The bedrooms are separated well so we could enjoy the rest of the comfortable cabin and peaceful covered deck while our baby slept at night without being disturbed. It was a great spot to start daily adventures in Shenandoah NP, and the hot tub was heaven to relax our sore muscles at the end of the day.

A wonderful cabin, exactly as advertised, in a great location for hiking Shenandoah and exploring local wineries and breweries. Cabin was clean and incredibly well stocked, complete with hot tub, fire pit and private creek access. Very private surroundings, with an attentive host who was also very hands off once we arrived. Would happily stay here again.

Ragged Run exceeded our expectations! The 5-acre mountain side setting was quiet and peaceful. The cabin was extremely clean, nicely decorated and well stocked. The owners thought of everything! We spent our days hiking, with a visit to Luray Caverns on a drizzly day and an afternoon at DuCard Winery which is only 2 miles away. Late afternoons we spent sitting in one of 4 seating areas on the private stream that runs along the property, sharing a bottle of DuCard. Evenings were lovely around the fire pit star gazing. Hot tub for cool weather, private swimming hole for warm weather…this cabin has it all! We will be back!

Such a great place. We are repeat renters for a reason. If you love Old Rag or the mountains and wineries, this is your place. Owners are great and very responsive. We plan to be back very soon!!

The house was perfect for me, my husband, and our 5 year old. One of my favorite Airbnbs we’ve ever stayed in. The location is great - close to hiking trails, Sperryville, and the entrance to Shenandoah National Park. Thoughtful touches all over the house - great binder of info, labeled light switches, games, dvds, balls to play with outside - so much to do! The house was incredibly clean and comfortable. Tracy was quick to respond to questions I had before our stay. We would love to experience other seasons here!

This cabin is perfection. The location is beautiful, with tons to do on the property. There was not a single thing that we wanted or needed during our trip that was not available in the home. Our 5yr old had a blast exploring the stream, playing in the yard, and the hot tub was a huge hit. It was so nice to be able to bring our dog without any additional fuss or fees. The beds were comfy, the kitchen remarkably well stocked, and all of the comforts of home were available. I was pleasantly surprised by the satellite tv and internet — it was better than I expected considering we couldn’t get cell service for more than 30 mins once we left the property. So many thoughtful details that made our stay more enjoyable! We hope to come back in warmer weather when we can enjoy the swimming hole and explore some more of the local amenities. Thank you, Tracy!

Ragged Run Roost is a fantastic hideaway that offers all the amenities of a luxury retreat, easy access to local attractions, and yet isolated enough that you’ll think you’re the only one in the world privileged enough to enjoy it!

This cabin is beautiful! It has an awesome location - you feel completely secluded and a million miles away from DC (even though it’s just a few hours drive). The property is gorgeous - we loved walking across the street to the river and swimming hole. The porch makes you feel like you’re in a treehouse and we spent every minute we weren’t outdoors sitting on the porch and listening to the waterfall. We had a group of 6 and the cabin provided plenty of space. Thank you for a restful and reenergizing weekend, Tracy!

This was the most incredible Airbnb we ever stayed in. There were endless things to do in the cabin and outside… Our dog absolutely loved the space to roam and run around in the yard. The fully stocked kitchen gave us an opportunity to make our own meals and the huge TVs in pretty much every room gave us a pampered baseball and football watching experience in the evening hours.
